Second defeat surprises South Bank

YORK, UK: "A MAN TRAVELS THE WORLD, in search of what he needs and returns home to find it." This quote has little to do with the following match report.

Last Friday, South Bank Reunited's game was delayed for such a time that manager, MJ was unable to see either half. MJ missed the match, however, Mr. MDJ Barnard who was present, with a good crowd of avid supporters, to the spectacle. Early reports indicate that South Bank had lost 6-0, which was not expected considering that the team returned to full strength. For further analysis, it is hoped that Mr. MDJ Barnard will be making a post soon, in order to calm the frayed nerves of the many thousands of South Bank supporters who may be becoming a little concerned.

Dear All,

As requested by the old bean, I am, henceforth, going to set out my post-match analysis.
The team battled valiantly, with the less-able members of the team clearlt struggling - this includes those who went out 'boozing' the night before - and they wonder why on God's beautiful earth they always lose - women, lack of fitness, lack of talent, I could go on. but no, it is none of these, it is to much alcohol - be ashamed of yourselves men, you know damned well who you are, 'Captain. Getting off that note, it is true, it was a heavy defeat, it cannot be denied. As a spectator - along with all the attractive women watching (for a member of the teams sake, can I apologise for misleading all as regards the alleged comment about the attractiveness of South Bank Re-United made by a member of the crowd; I will admit no such comment was made; but the women are genuinely gorgeous, this cannot be disputed) - it was decided the loss was due to
1) The rather tall, large, fat, fit, talented, generally good opposition. Our boys had no hope against those men.
2) The lack of match fitness by some players.
3) One team players skill at jumping OVER the ball when tackling (largely due to over-sized opposition).
4) Mainly the opposition - who were to big!
I think this concludes the post-match analysis. It was a bad result - but the team played well considering the opposition and the massively excessive piss-up the previous night.
Barnard Out --------------

I rather think Mr. Barnard should learn to spell and punctuate before slurring the performance of such a graceful and committed team.

I have also, since posting, noticed the mistakes, which are very few, so you can sod off. I think there are approximately five, and as I say, I did not - annoyingly - notice them prior to posting.
Anyway, it was not meant to be a slur of any description, and suggest you re-read it now. I describe you all as valiant, and pin the blame for your defeat purely at the hands of the opposition, who it has to be said were much larger than you, hence why you, for example, were so afraid to tackle - jumping over the ball.
I, as a matter of fact, thought you all played very well; and think the score was a very bad reflection of how very well you had played. If I am to take this as a serious attack upon my integrity, then you are seriously. I, along with the rest of the supporters, have been a pillar of strength for the team. I do not think the team can argue this to the same extent, also I do believe YOU (and you know who you are - 'anonymous') vastly, vastly, over-estimate your own talent and ability at the game of football. I remember when you were always so keen to point out 'look how many goals I've scored'. Well that does not wash any more, really, come on, you are not that good. I do not mind a lack of talent, but what I do hate is an artificially inflated ego, and that is something you most definitely possess.
Now stop criticizing my spelling and look seriously at your own life, how can you seriously believe it to be a success so far?

N.B. In the second paragraph it reads 'seriously...'. Please take this, not as an error, but insert any expletive of your choice. My choice was too insulting, and do was not included. You absolute spherical...(please complete), because you are, and you know it really.
I hope we can now finish this here and now.

This match has clearly left a bitter taste in many mouths, for the debate that has raged since Friday.

I thank the chairman for his match report, but also apologise if he feels I have bandied his name about too frequently. I hope this has not inconvenienced him or any member of his family.

I do not think you 'have bandied his name about too frequently'. I assure you it does not concern me. I simply noticed no mentions of your actual name Michael, rather than picking up on many mentions of mine. Cheers anyway.

'This match has clearly left a bitter taste in many mouths'. This does not apply to me I do hope. Clearly 'anonymous' was really rather riled by my comments, but perhaps this was more to do with his poor performance, rather than my comments. I am now awaiting an apology for the severe over-tones clearly implicit in what 'anonymous' had to say earlier.

Last comment MJ - I promise! I did not mean any of my previous comments, they were all said in jest. However, if any members of the team took them as an attack on them personally, I owe them nothing less than a full and frank apology. I will most certainly give one. I am very sorry for my previous comments, they were not to be taken seriously, but I did not make this clear. I apologise for saying them, and withdraw them completely. Matthew.
