Historic Victory for South Bank!

YORK, UK: SPIRITS WERE HIGH in the build-up to today's match, and they, if anything increased by the time of the full-time whistle, with South Bank Reunited cruising to a historic 5-1 victory at the tent.

South Bank opened their account very early on with a beautifully driven shot by Swedish international, Hampus, and with two more goals in quick succession by the Englishman, Martin, the team made sure that the opposition were rattled very early on. Indeed, Tim's team hardly settled for the rest of the game, and eventually left with their tails between their legs.

The opposition did attempt to salvage some dignity from the match, however, scoring a soft consolation goal, to bring the match to 3-1, and as they got more desperate, the more scrappy their challenges got. Alas (for them), Thai international struck in South Bank's fourth, in much style. Martin, given the chance of getting a well-earned hat trick, sealed the match, with a well position penalty, that took the score to 5-1.

Those who didn't score, included the captain John, who, as always was busy hustling in defence, and keeping out South Bank's foe. John, also being one of the key architects in some important tactical changes, that found fruiting in today's match. The South Bank goal was further, dutifully kept by Andy, who kept out the attempts of the opposing side, and also, as always, was a dominating figure in his area. Also, subbing on at half time, Michael (MJ) made a post-man flu appearance (we know how serious those can be), in defence (even if he did spend a wee time wandering about his own area), and did his bit in his second cap of the season.

After the match, it was only just sinking in, what a tremendous victory South Bank had secured. "Beautiful", said Michael. "I don't think Tim's happy", John concluded. "The girls missed a classic" pointed out another. So, did Medway, who allegedly had "studies". Indeed, they all did miss a classic; a classic, that quite frankly outshines any amount of the Olympic's skeleton boarding, or Scotish Women mucking about with brushes.

There will be jubilation on the streets of York tonight!
