South Bank's Winning Streak Curtailed (briefly)

YORK, UK: South Bank Re-United went into today's match feeling confident from the previous weeks 5-1 and 2-1 victories over other teams. Alas, today, the tally of vanquished foes was not to increase, as by misfortune, South Bank fell to a 3-0 defeat.

York started with some strong defending, which indeed continued throughout the match, however the first goal came off a set piece, free kick, for which South Bank were unprepared for. Despite having the lion's share of shots in the match, South Bank were unable to capitalise, and a couple times, strikes shook the woodwork.

Captain Jon, kept out the opposition the best he could and Vaz also played his part. The other team, however, scored another long range goal, this time during normal play, which disappointingly for South Bank, took the score to 2-0.

The second half started spritely for the team, although they were eventually to succumb to a very unfortunate third goal. Andy, was simply very unlucky. Despite various team changes, with Hampus coming off for Michael in the last moments of the game, South Bank were robbed of goal scoring glory. Medway had a few chances, as did Martin, however it was not to be.

The team are still confident about their last game at the tent, next week, and are hoping to end the season with a bang. The team were disappointed with today's match but believe many lessons can be learned for the future, and we can walk away with our heads held high, with the moral advantage taken from the game. If nothing else, Hampus' rough and tumble style of play, will do some good to strike fear into the hearts of next week's team. Today's team mascot, Steph, also suggested that if she was given any chance to play next week, she would opt for an aggresive method.

South Bank 0 - Other Team 3
Line-up: Andy (goal), Jon (captain), Vaz, "Medway", Hampus
Subs: Martin, Michael
